How do i block a specific web site, so my daughter can not log on? such as my space, face book, etc?

u can use a hosts file as suggested above or u can go to internet options%26gt;security%26gt;restricted sites%26gt;add site u want blocked


or u can use a program called saferspace which will block my space or any other site u don't want her to go to it is configurable so u can paswword protect it etc

You can secure this with a passsword.





I hope you realize, Mom, we can only try to take care of our kids when they are home - and try to instill good values in them. The problems arise at school and homes where there is no parental supervision. It's not easy.
Reply:Internet Explorer version 5 and later offer the ability for heighten security and privacy. You can block a site by following the directions below:





1. Load your Internet explorer


2. Click Tools


3. Click Internet Options


4. Click the Privacy tab


5. Under the Privacy window, Click Sites


6. Type in the site address that you want to Block and Click OK.

Reply:Go to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc folder, double click on hosts and open it with notepad, at the bottom underneath;





127.0.0.1 localhost

127.0.0.1 www.myspace.com





Save and close the file.





Now everytime she tries to go to myspace.com DNS will point to the loopback address and she will get a can not load page error.
