I dunno. Maybe, it's easy for a life to be turned upside down

What is the theme of the book ''the face on the milk carton''?
Since I've never read the book, I don't want to give you an incorrect answer. However, I'll do all I can to help you by quoting the dictionary definition of theme. A theme is

1. a subject of discourse, discussion, meditation, or composition; topic: The need for world peace was the theme of the meeting.

2. a unifying or dominant idea, motif, etc., as in a work of art.

At the very least, I hope this helped you to clarify what theme is and apply it to the novel...I'm sure it'll come to you. Best of luck!
Reply:Wow. It's nice to see people here know what they're talking about. The word I'm thinking of isn't coming to my mind, though. It's kind of like regret. I'm sure there is more then one theme though. I'll edit my answer if I can come up with something better :/ Try spark notes though.
Reply:I don't know about the book but they had one of those made for tv movies with that title that played on either Lifetime or ABC Family I can't remember which. It was about a girl who got kidnapped and years later was reunited with her birth family.
Reply:OMG, i love that book i havent read it in a long time tho. i would say, finding your true self or sumthing like that.
Reply:if its the same as the tv movie of the same name its about a child abduction
