Reply:I have that book, its called A light in the attic by Shel Silverstein! Great book.
Reply:i dk! how am i suposto!?
Reply:My best guess is something by Shel Silverstein, do a search on amazon for his books and see if one of those is what you're thinking of.
Reply:I don't remember
Reply:I can't place the title, but I think the author was Shel Silverstein...
Reply:i don't know
Reply:Sounds like Shel Silverstein's "A Light In The Attic" or "Where The Sidewalk Ends".

Go to a bookstore and check out the children's section. Look for anything by Shel, including "The Giving Tree" and "Lafcaido, The Lion Who Shot Back".

80's cartoon film: a witch-like character keeps springing up and causing bother. Lives inside a book.?

This green hag/witch is a continual cause of death and destruction, in a sort of wonderland. There may be others of the same appearance also. It isn;t The Sword in the Stone, but similair. She seems to come alive when you open this bok.

She is eventually killed when someone slams shut the book, with her face between the pages. Inmanaging to get it shut, she is "stamped out."

80's cartoon film: a witch-like character keeps springing up and causing bother. Lives inside a book.?
is it the carebears? I remeber a movie with the carebears in it with a book that tries to destroy the world after a boy opens it up. Then he had to shut the book and lock it to stop it

Do you ever feel like you're married to a book?

I do... I felt like I was married to Insomnia, The Stand, and Needful Things, and The Face because the books were so long! I divorced (lol) Tommyknockers, It, and Intensity... They just weren't doing anything for me...

Ha ha...

I think I'll be married to The Shining next...

Do you ever feel like you're married to a book?
Yes and that is the best feeling.
Reply:Thank You!

Reply:Every time I read one, yeah...I love the feeling :)
Reply:I'm married to The Prince and Guerilla Warfare...

Reply:Every time I read a book that I enjoy. There are those that stay with me forever %26amp; those are certainly long term relationships. It, Tommyknockers, The Moonspinners, The Works of Shakespeare, and many others.

(I'm so glad that the divorce was amicable %26amp; I'm happy to enter a contract with the first two. lol)
Reply:I sure do.
Reply:Sounds like you want to be married to Stephen King.

I've read most of them and I liked The Talisman the best.

My teacher threw a huge dictionary on my face, what to do?

well, o.k he's real devil person he always harass the students and he threw a huge dictionary on my face including some books for no reason i have complaint it to the principal but he couldn't do anything, what should i do?

p.s it's really important to take revenge he is getting over the top.

My teacher threw a huge dictionary on my face, what to do?
He's probably the kind of teacher who obsesses about a specific subject. I'll take a guess here in that he's into literacy in a big way. Throwing a dictionary at you probably isn't the best thing to do either. I'd say he's very frustrated teacher in need of some serious long service leave. Basically he needs to get away from the school and have a break. I'm sure what he did to you wasn't right but getting revenge makes you worse than him.

If he really is getting over the top then maybe he's on the verge of a mental breakdown. If that's the case then you should talk to your principal again preferably when he or she is not busy and further stress your worries or better still talk to him about it but calmly and try and see if you can work what's bugging him that's what I would do.
Reply:Did he throw it at you in front of witnesses? If so, tell your parents and have them call the police. File an assault charge and watch his *** get fired.

If he didn't do it in front of witnesses, you're screwed for now. Just wait for him to slip up again and take advantage.
Reply:if you got spare money for court expenses, then go ahead do it UFC style, i was once a victim of those kind of devils ,when i was in 3rd grade i was slap at the nape by my teacher in a filipino subject,,,he even said that he was a blackbelter,,,that was way back then, i havent seen them yet,... the other one was scout master, i was then in grade six, he went inside the bus and started slapping all the boy scouts, and stated that he has a 5 pounder fist, i dont know what it means , ... i suggest not to take the law into your own hands,,,, but for me my hands ,elbow, knee, feet will do the talking, and let them tatse some sort of police brutality....even if it will mean my expulsion from the service.
Reply:Tell it to the police. He's taking advantage of his authority. And remember, no one's above the law.
Reply:Bring a portable tape recorder to class, and record the off-the-rails teacher. Sounds like teacher needs a long vacation.

Put the incident in writing, and have all the witnesses sign it.

Lastly, make sure you do nothing to tick him off, do your homework, and start reading the dictionary!

Guide 4 Free and Jason M's answers are excellent, but if this teacher's as bad as you claim, you NEED CONCRETE EVIDENCE before you can proceed with any action against him.

Has there been a book that has faced greater controversy, scrutiny, etc than the Bible?

Are there more commentaries or searches for explanations brought about by Any other book? Do more people learn from these searches than Any other book?

Peace and Love

Has there been a book that has faced greater controversy, scrutiny, etc than the Bible?
Yeah, anything written by Anne Coulter.
Reply:The Bible is the most read and most talked about in the world's history. It's a good read. Give it a shot and see what everyone is talking about.
Reply:Scrutiny!!!!! The Bible??? Who has Scrutinised the Bible??? Except those that would say it was true no matter what. I would love to have some "Real" Scientist scrutinise the Bible. Problem is, no one that believes the Bible would Believe them. Look at the "Shroud of Turin", if radio carbon dating would have put the date of the Shroud at the year 1 of our lord Jesus Christ. Not only would Scientist be in awe the whole world would have and the Church would have said "AMEN". But since Radio Carbon Dating

put the date in the 14th Century (EXACTLY WHERE HISTORIANS PUT IT) the Church and the Religious said "Radio Carbon Dating" is junk Science! LMAO 8-) GO FIGURE!
Reply:I don't think so!
Reply:The Davinci Code
Reply:I would say "The Davinci Code" has faced a great deal of controversy and scrutiny for a story that doesn't even claim to be true.
Reply:Harry Potter
Reply:The fact that its been 2000 years and we're still arguing about it says enough.
Reply:Possibly 'Quotations from Chairman Mao'.
Reply:Not to my knowledge. Peace.
Reply:Has there ever been an "educational" book with more flaws?
Reply:no.
Reply:Two books immediately come to mind for facing greater controversy, etc. than the Christian bible. The first is "On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection" by Charles Darwin and the second would be "The Da Vinci Code" by Dan Brown.
Reply:Qur'an. Vatican is studying it from last 1400 years.
Reply:Don't think so, only because the bible has been around for so darn long. you'd have to compare it to a book at least as old for the comparison to make sense.

I received a book titled "Baby Faces" in the mail and I am wondering what company sent it to me?

All I can remember about the package is that they said they would continue to send me books that would help my child as she developed. I know the book is by Playskool but I want to get the company that sent it to me in the first place so I can subscribe

Here's a link with a list of baby book clubs. Maybe this will help:

As a certified professional nanny, I can also highly recommend Baby Einstein books and products.

Those books with baby faces are WONDERFUL for the little ones. Babies are ALWAYS highly responsive to those.

Has Science revealed the ultimate truth in 'The Hidden Face of God'?

In the book 'The Hidden Face of God: Science reveals the ultimate truth' by Gerald Schroeder, he reviewed the biological phenomena whose intricate complexity hints at "wisdom within wisdom" in the design of the universe. "If we could see within as easily as we see without, every aspect of existence would be an unfolding encounter with awe; almost a religious experience even for a secular spectator," he writes. From cosmology to neurology, the latest research makes sense only if viewed from a metaphysical perspective. Strict materialism excludes all purpose, choice, and spirituality from the world and simply cannot account for the data pouring in from labs and observatories. Schroeder knows much about natural complexity (eg. DNA is encoded) and discovered that in the furthest reaches of quantum physics, at the heart of the cell, in the depths of the quasar, lies a deep wisdom encoded in a unified chain of information.

Has Science revealed the ultimate truth in 'The Hidden Face of God'?
Check out what happened when these same metaphysical precepts, which were first written about by Moses, first appeared in the first work of scriptural research that revealed such things eight years ago and got attacked by preachers:

http://www.aristarcus.com

Due to the danger of the political and religious ramifications that also appeared when these precepts were applied to unlock the secrets of world history, it has only been very intelligent people in independent (free-thinking, despite other attachments) music that have continued the call to sanity about it all. But now science is finally bringing up the rear.

.

So the answer to your question is no, Moses has shown us the face of God.

.
Reply:my prayers are with you please read the bible
Reply:ya... i disagree with this guy. pure materialism does, always has, and always will account for everything... just as yesterdays mystery is todays common knowledge.. todays mysteries are tomorrows common knowledge. pure deterministic materialism has gotten humans where they are.. luckely a few scientists that werent burned at the stake by religions were able to advance the human race to where it is now.
Reply:God's face is not hidden, it is everywhere you look. Your mind has been conditioned to think otherwise. Let go of the illusionary thoughts, regurgitate the fruit from the 'tree of good and evil.' Return to the clarity of knowing you are in the Garden and never left.
Reply:And really all one has to do is open their eyes and look closely

at the complexness of our universe and KNOW that it couldn't have happened accidently from an exploding ball of mud...

Can someone please help me with the book below?

We are doing some projects in group about the book "contents of the dead man pocket", "cask of Amontillado" and "Beware of the dog by Roald Dahl"

In the project we have to make a chart plot about each one of the book. I did contents of the dead man pocket's chart plot and right now i'm tryin' to do cask of Amontillado. I have to read too much all by myself, these 3 people are so lazy, they don't do nothing.

So, I just want you guys to help me with the beware of the dog by Roald Dahl, You don't need to tell me the whole story, you can just give me some problems that they faced in the book and the climax in the book.

Thanks in advance for helping me guys.

Can someone please help me with the book below?
Don't you hate team projects when the other team members don't do anything at all? The poster above has a good point. the teacher should know that your team members didn't do any work. They shouldn't get credit for work they didn't do.

Pilot Peter Williamson has sustained a massive injury while flying a mission over Vichy France (the name given to the German–controlled areas of the country). He ejects from the plane and later awakes to find himself in a hospital bed in Brighton on the English seashore. Strange things keep happening though – like the time he recognizes the sound of German planes through the window when there shouldn't have been any nearby. The nurse also mentions that the hospital water is very hard, when Williamson knows the water in Brighton is famous for being soft. Suspicious and frightened, he later drags himself to the window and sees a wooden sign, "GARDE AU CHIEN" (French for "Beware of the dog"). He now knows that he is in Vichy France, and that the nice English caregivers are actually Germans in disguise. When they send in a fake RAF commander to convince him to divulge his squadron's location, he stares him straight in the eye and says nothing more than "My name is Peter Williamson. My rank is Squadron Leader and my number is nine seven two four five seven."

Address Book > contact info -- what do the smiley/frowney faces in the first column mean?

When I open up Yahoo Address Book I notice smiley / frowney faces in the first column (to the left of the contact's name check box). Most of the icons are blue and frowning, but one is yellow and smiling. What do these faces mean?

Address Book %26gt; contact info -- what do the smiley/frowney faces in the first column mean?
Those smiley faces you mentioned next to your contact's name means they are in your Yahoo Instant Messenger List.

If they are yellow and smiling, it means they are on line in Instant Messenger at the time. If they are blue, they are not.

The Analects, the Bhagavad Gita, the Dhammapada...which one is the best book?

Somebody cleverly said that we have no time to read good books; we should read the best ones. The Gutenberg Project on the Internet introduces thousands of best books. I even face the problem of choosing the number one best among the best.

I choose the Kitab-i-Aqdas of Baha'u'llah among the Quran, the Bible, the Torah, and many other Books of various religions. And I think a big 'bang bang' would occur on this forum, if I announced that I have made the best choice! Thousands of Muslims would say it must be the Quran; the Christians the Bible, the Hindu the Bhagavad Gita...!

But it is a miraculously new thing that not all the Baha'is would agree in my pointing out that the Kitab-i-Aqdas is the best Baha'i Holy Book. Because Baha'u'llah has reavealed more than one hundred Books to show the way for building the world divine civilization. I have not read all of them, how can I say which is the number one best!

Perhaps, we should let each man to use his freedom to make the choice, right?

The Analects, the Bhagavad Gita, the Dhammapada...which one is the best book?
My vote would be the Kitab-I-Iqan - it does such a wonderful job outlining how the religions of God are all part of one larger Message.

You can buy this book through Chapters, a Canadian book store chain similar to Barnes and Noble. It's available on their website for $45 and they'll ship to the US if that's where you live. Here's the link for you!

Just a wild guess here, champ, but I'd say it's about German society during WWI.

Name of this book?

There is a book I am trying to remember the name of. What I can remember:

-A teenage girl is the main character.

-I think she lives around the time of the Depression.

-There is an epidemic going around...I'm almost positive it is yellow fever...

-I remember during one part she is walking with her grandfather...then something bad happens and she is later in a hospital.

-I think maybe her mother is either very ill or dies with the disease.

-I think her house is robbed, and she tries to fight the robbers?

-I think there is talk of burying the dead, all together, and the main character has a problem with that?

-I think the cover of the book is a face with yellow skin and sickly green eyes.

I'm sorry, I don't really remember a lot. I think some of this info might not be right.....but I'm pretty sure.

Thanks so much to everyone who helps me!

In the first book, Eragon, a young man finds a mysterious blue stone in the forested mountains above his home in Alagaesia. Along with his blue dragon, Saphira, Eragon is stumbling about because things are happening to him which he does not understand. His inner goodness and common sense enable him to muddle through and he has some help from a couple of humans and some dwarfs. In the second book, Eldest, the dwarfs, elves, humans, Eragon, and Saphira have joined forces against evil. Eragon and Saphira have begun training to understand and improve their skills. A new, red dragon makes an appearance. I've been told that in the third book a golden dragon will appear. It has just been announced that the third book, Brisingr, will be available on September 20, 2008. Originally planned as a trilogy, Paolini has recently decided that there will be four books in his Inheritance Cycle.

John Beachem:

Storms of Vengeance is John's first novel and I've been told that it is part of a series of 8 to 10 books. There is a murder mystery to be solved. Who did it and why? There is a mythical Lorradda Stone to locate. There are three parallel stories as we follow the actions of three different groups of people. There are also some ogres, two elves, several sorcerers, a troll, and one very impressive river monster. The book ends with a cliff hanger. One reason that young people gave for liking Harry Potter was the detail in the stories. They will find plenty of detail here as well. The title of the second book in the series will be The Hunter and the Marked.

David Eddings:

There are three stories in Volume I of The Belgariad: Pawn of Prophecy, Queen of Sorcery, and Magician's Gambit. Volume II of The Belgariad has two stories: Castle of Wizardry and Enchanters' End Gambit. If you are looking for grand adventure and plenty of detail it is here. Some may object to the slow progression and limited action of this tale. A sorcerer and his daughter, a sorceress, have gathered together a group of individuals to fight evil. It seems that the particular make-up for this group is necessary based upon an ancient prophecy. The group includes: the Nimble Thief, the Man with Two Lives, the Blind Man, the Dreadful Bear, the Knight Protector, the Horse Lord, the Bowman, the Queen of the World, and the Mother of the Race that Died. A young boy named Garion, who was raised by his Aunt Pol, is caught up in all of this, though he doesn't know why. But then, is she really his Aunt? There is so much detail that I have not as yet confirmed there are no mistakes in the mapping of the story. I thoroughly enjoyed The Belgariad and look forward to reading the sequel, The Mallorean.

The Mallorean Volume I: Guardians of the West, King of the Murgos, and Demon Lord of Karanda by David Eddings

What is the face mask called when u have a three degree burn on your face?

What is the mask face thing called?

You know like after you get a third-degree burn on your face. And they take skin off another part of your body and put it on your face and then put a cage thing on it to keep the presure on it so the skin can heal back. What is that called and what do they look like? I read it in a book called A face First by Pricilla Cumming's and I was curious what it was called. Thanx for the help!!!!!!!! 10 points to best awnser!

What is the face mask called when u have a three degree burn on your face?
Laser excision of acute third-degree burns followed by immediate autograft replacement.
Reply:its a skin graft
Reply:The only thing I can say it is called is skin grafting. And this is where they do take skin from another part of your body and place it where it is needed and they do put something on it to help the skin graft grow onto the area that is needed. I hope this helps

Not sure if these are the same three in your text.

Universal prevention strategies address the entire population

Selective prevention strategies target subsets of the total population that are deemed to be at risk

Indicated prevention strategies are designed to prevent the onset of substance abuse in individuals who do not meet DSM-IV criteria for addiction, but who are showing early danger signs

Those of you who claim that gay relationships are "immoral" do you base that on any other book than the bible?

Because let's face it, any book that claims that donkey's can talk, bats are unclean birds and that mixing fibers in clothing being evil is, quite frankly, hardly an authoritative source for anything.

So, do you have ANY rational reasons to call same-sex relationships "immoral"?

Because I for one haven't heard a single one yet.

Those of you who claim that gay relationships are "immoral" do you base that on any other book than the bible?
Dude let's just put it this way: No REAL chef needs to check the cookbook for every detail to make a great dish. These people lack orginality, taste, and independence from a fictional piece of literature. And only a small group of them are somewhat endurable to be around.
Reply:I base it on the Bible.
Reply:I couldn't stand to be around gays even if I'd never read the Bible. The attitude you exhibit in this question shows enough of a spirit of arrogance and rebellion that I would stay as far from you as I could. After reading this question I don't know how you can say donkeys can't talk.
Reply:A thing being Moral or Immoral are most likely an agreed social term in a certain community. Just like what is right for you may not be right for me and vise versa.

The changing standards in the modern society is now being based on what can be lawfully acceptable or not.The immorality of same sex marriage exist on places where it is not yet socially acceptable. Your religion is still a voice against or for it. Just judge it in the way you will not be judged also.
Reply:You have a very valid question.. Th Bible flip flops a lot on this subject and the clergy has the upper-hand poaching only the negatives while ALL the positives go unnoticed..

Jesus never ever mentions homosexuality as a sin. He talks very fondly about Sodom and Gomorrah. In fact, he said that in the Day of Judgment the Sodomites will fare much better than the Jews! Dig this… Jesus is going to judge everybody and he is ALREADY telling us the outcome of the proceedings in his Holy Court! No other judge in the world is so candid!

Matthew 11:24 (NIV) But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the Day of Judgment than for you."*

(*) Jesus is demonstrating to have much more love and favoritism for the gays and Lesbians than for his own people the Jews! He also stated that even the PROSTITUTES* (*not ex-prostitutes, but prostitutes!) will enter his Kingdom ahead of the Jews!!! So if you have a choice of favoring a gay person or a Jew, which one would you choose??? Hint: WWJD?

God the Son Jesus Christ* (*the future Judge of the World) doesn’t see anything wicked in Sodom, except the normal everyday life routine… Bear in mind that Jesus is the sole heir of the Universe… The old man God will kick the bucket someday and Jesus will take over…

Luke 17:28-29 (NIV) “It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.* (*God the Son Jesus Christ doesn't mention homosexuality as the sin of Sodom, but that sh*t happens!!! Nobody beats Jesus at judging anybody!)

There are unfulfilled prophecies in the Old Testament about the full restoration of Sodom and Gomorrah to the state that they were just before their destruction!!!

Ezekiel 16:53, 55 (NIV) "However, I* (*God) will restore the fortunes of Sodom and her daughters and of Samaria and her daughters, and your fortunes along with them… [55] And your sisters, Sodom with her daughters and Samaria with her daughters, will return to what they were before; and you and your daughters will return to what you were before.

EDIT: If you care to read a bit more...

Hardly any Christian knows King Melchizedek... He was very fond of the Sodomites... and I wonder why is it that Christians never celebrate Abraham as the liberator of the Sodomites? It seems that homophobia is deeply rooted in Christianity.

Sodom was invaded and looted (Gen 14). Lot, his family and most of the Sodomites were captured and taken to be sold as slaves, but their King Bera managed to escape. Abraham is told about it. He arms his slaves and goes about 200 miles on hot pursue of the invaders. Abraham defeats them. Abraham recovers all the loot. Also, he liberates Lot and his family, and all the Sodomites! The liberated Sodomites must have danced naked before Abraham in celebration of joy all the way home. This was repeated when King David brought the Ark of the Covenant back to Jerusalem. He exposed his genitals dancing naked before the LORD and some slave girls! Abraham became the national hero in the Kingdom of Sodom!

When Abraham and all the rescued Sodomites were safely returning home they were greeted by King Bera of Sodom and King Melchizedek* (*Christian theologians claim that he was Jesus in one of his epiphanies--Heb 7:1-3). King Melchizedek brought out bread and wine to celebrate Abraham's genuine "mission accomplished" liberating the Sodomites! King Bera of Sodom and King Melchizedek were bosom buddies!

Genesis 14:17-18 (NIV)

After Abram returned from defeating Kedorlaomer and the kings allied with him, the king of Sodom came out to meet him in the Valley of Shaveh… Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out BREAD AND WINE* (*type of Holy Communion!). He was priest of God Most High,

In the course of this celebration God makes Abraham to take a solemn oath not to accept any compensation money from King Bera for rescuing the Sodomites in spite of the fact that he risked his own life doing it and who knows how many of his slaves were killed in battle! IT WAS ALL ON ABRAHAM'S ACCOUNT! The Sodomites are highly honored before the Bible God! Abraham already got a big fortune from the MIGHTY King of Egypt and later on from the King of Gerar when these kings picked up Abraham’s old sister/wife Sarah for sex and God forced these kings to compensate dearly to Abraham. They actually made him filthy rich in spite of the fact that Abraham was an illiterate Hebrew shepherd pimping his own sister/wife around, but Abraham was not to accept a Penny from the King of Sodom! Homosexuals are right to be mad at the Christians, but only to the Bible knowledgeable Christians and the Clergy in general because they hide this facts from the general public!

Shortly after this episode God Almighty needs to personally come down to Earth from Heaven to investigate what is going on in Sodom! NOTHING THAT WAS GOING ON IN SODOM EVER BOTHERED GOD EXCEPT THAT SOMEBODY COMPLAINED… it was an “outcry”!!! (Gen 18:20-21) And Sodom is destroyed just for the heck of it! THERE IS PLENTY OF EVIDENCE IN THE BIBLE that the morality of the Sodomites was far superior to that of Lot’s morality. Christians refuse to discuss this whole episode. God promised FULL RESTORATION TO SODOM to the state that it was before it was destroyed! (Eze 16:53,55)

Only the incestuous Lot is saved. He lost his wife. He got drunk and had sex with his young virgin daughters until they got pregnant under the watchful eye of God Almighty... God enjoyed what he was watching and he declared Lot a Holy and Righteous man throughout the Bible, Old and New Testaments! This is all in the Bible that Christians want to ignore and never mention to anybody to the hurt of the gay community!
Reply:"The religious book of bigotry" They hand it out free every Sunday after service with highlighted paragraphs and quotes.
Reply:It is all based on the bible no other book is involved, i find Christians are the most bigoted people in the world.
Reply:Rational reasons? COMMON SENSE!!
Reply:it looks like most people are basing it on dislike which is silly, the "nature has a plan" idea which is also laughable when many straights partake in anal and also that many animals are into the same-sex

also one claims to dislike the attitude of the questioner which is a feeble and stupid excuse

people talk like the species will die out but many same-sex couples act as guardians plus the equipment's there to reproduce so bisexuals can

I don't think that there's ever a rational reason for homophobia

edit: even the "context" reason has been suggested which is laughable
Reply:I've kinda decided christians don't know the meaning of the word moral. I just wish they would leave other people alone.
Reply:any living organism is genetically programmed to keep the species going. Gay relationships would eventually cause humans to die out. Besides that your butt is an exit not an entrance, not to mention its digusting just to think about it.
Reply:Yeah, nature itself. Man is the only creature on the planet that sees nothing wrong with same sex relationships. Homosexuality is un-natural. Homosexuality is deviate behavior, and the sign of a sick mind. The only difference between homosexuals and child molesters is the age of their toys.
Reply:Where do you get that the old testament is what we use today for deciding life. It's through the Life, death and resurrection of JESUS CHRIST in the new testament that defines Christianity. through those laws of GOD and the words of Jesus is where we get most of our concepts now about morals.

It is the new testament that we focus mostly on because it is through JESUS that we can the salvation of GOD!!

The old testament was fulfilled by the Messiah and yes it is in the Bible and yes homosexuality is a sin as well as adultery and other deviant sexual acts that defiles not only GOD but other humans!!
Reply:I could go into some long spill, but the truth is, the only thing most Christian's can rely on for info is the Bible. Nerd F totally removed the scriptures he quoted from their context. I will be happy to elaborate if you'll e-mail me--I don't want to post a book.

I do, however, question the fact that there were no S.T.D.'s until homosexuality, bestiality, and necrophilia became more common practice.
Reply:It's just obvious by nature the human body was not constructed to to engage in such activities.
Reply:Personally, I don't know of another book that proposes any fixed moral baseline - do you?
Reply:I cannot say for certain that it is totally immoral but it is against nature. Nature is about reproducing and that is impossible in a homosexual relationship.

How do i change the colour & face design of my leather binder without damaging the material?

Hey guys,

i was given a leather binder as a present but i want to make good use of it becuase it is very handy to have.

the only problem i am having with it is the way it looks....

.... in simple terms it is EXPTREMLY UGLY...

...mainly becase it is a big, brown, ugly leather casing.

I wanted to know if it is possible to change the colour of this case to something else without damaging the leather materail?

(by the way it is fake leather)

and i was thinking of adding a few of my own specail designs onto the face of the book....can this be done?, or will i need to keep day dreaming for the day when it will look pretty?

How do i change the colour %26amp; face design of my leather binder without damaging the material?
To change the color of the "fleather", you can use Kiwi shoe polish. Follow the directions on the tin, in about a week you should have a nice new color. You can add what ever other designs you want later, just be sure to put a coat of clear shoe polish on top or else you'll get color all over you.
Reply:You could try painting your own print onto the casing, to add a little more style. Using a acrylic paint and some sort of sealing agent, to seal the paint. Apply your design and colour you wish. See your local craft store for ideas.

Does anyone know a gutsy book publisher with market access for "How Hillary Helped Wal-Mart Save Communism!"?

Come on now, its history making time! And think how fun it will be to sell next year. Real companies please. Wal-Mart has told me to my face that this book would "never happen". They never spoke that way to me before and we fought everyday for 20 years proceeding this. With the MOST SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS in EVERY TOWN up and down EVERY HIGHWAY throughout this vast country it was my view we should do some good for the people who supported our success, they didn't. That fight began 20 years ago this year while attempting to make a presentation to the WMT Board of Directors entitled "American Showcase". That presentation was interrupted midway through by the only female in the room. She displayed a side of human nature I had not seen before at 20 years old, or since, to that degree. Utterly rejecting community based economics for a quick obvious run into hell she scolded me for the audacity to ask her to LOSE MONEY by paying a living wage or buying American made. Her name? Hilla

Does anyone know a gutsy book publisher with market access for "How Hillary Helped Wal-Mart Save Communism!"?
First of all, Wal-Mart is a neo-con company and I suspect she was trying to give you a lesson in economics. You can't go into a board room and promote losing money to a company. No company is in business to lose money. What you should have done is emphasis what could be done to offset employee wages with increased sales or whatever to balance out the equation. A first year accounting or economic student knows better.
Reply:You might try the publisher of World Weekly News. It would go well with Bat boy, and the ghost of John Wayne both found at the Alamo.
Reply:Try Regnery Press. Look it up on the Internet. It deals mostly with conservative authors and it might see your book as something that might sell.
Reply:Check out the publisher of National Enquirer, their publication is similar to what you are describing.
Reply:It`s all about money . Wal Mart doesn`t give a rat`s asss about anyone or anything else . Unfortunately , they are by no means the only one .

She wants to read a book while having sex?

She is so shy that she reads a book over face while we have intercourse. I'm bothered about it what shall I do?

She wants to read a book while having sex?
Do her doggy style, then maybe it won't bother you.
Reply:Turn on the tv that way you both are entertained
Reply:Why don't you get a really really dirty book...maybe that would get her into what is going on around her??? I like the doggy style idea!! Then you wouldn't even notice the book!!! Does she MOVE? Is she enjoying it? Might have to think about trading her in.
Reply:you must be boring
Reply:A special hobby...

try to give her some time..

talk to her seriously about your feeling when she do that...
Reply:ok uh i guess tell her or jerk it away from her face
Reply:Well first off you need to try different positions so that she does not feel so shy. also try with the lights off in complete darkness and she can let herself go. Now is it because she is shy or is it because you are not really doing it for her? Sounds like she just having sex with you to make you happy.
Reply:how is that even possible? That's so weird.
Reply:Ask her what the hell is her problem....you shouldnt be afraid of your partner while having intercourse.....intercourse is about makin a connection with one another....
Reply:If you really care about her and you don't want to leave her (which in this situation I think you should consider that) but I would just tell her that from this point forward you will not get sexual with her, until she feels comfortable enough to be completely involved in having sex with you and not just you doing it with someone who has no confidence and feels it's okay to read a book during the most intimate thing that can be shared between two people who care for one another. Good Luck!
Reply:Grab that book and fling it across the room. Not too violently, of course... I really do love books and would hate for any harm to come to it.
Reply:God, that's wierd! Either you're a really bad root, or she's reading a very exciting book! :P
Reply:Spew it all over her
Reply:that's wrong maybe your not doing right, you should buy a book about pleasing a woman, or tell her you wanna watch watch sports during sex that should tick her off.
Reply:tell her to belt up

make it sexy replace the book with a mask

she needs to get over herself and relaise men like self confidence if she wants a bf then she needs to get sexy quick smart or expect to be dumped

frigid women do my head in
Reply:she shouldnt be shy if you two love each other.bc making love is a very special thing in a relationship.talk to her about it and tell her how it makes you feel.talking will do the trick just be open and honest about it.
Reply:It sounds as if she's bored. You should read some good books or on-line articles about how to improve your technique; be sure to do this BEFORE you have sex again.

Another thing you can try is to insist that she turn out the lights. This is a good way to deal with shyness, but if boredom is really the problem, she's likely to fall asleep.

Stick to the missionary position; it'll be hard for her to read. Don't let her sit on your face; that's inviting her to read or watch TV. Doggy-style would also make it easy for her to act this way.

Encourage her to b**w you. It would be hard to read with your thing in her mouth.
Reply:This is weird...you both need to face each other and talk and make love while looking into each others eyes.... YOU can do it....
Reply:If she is unattractive- it may work out in your favor.
Reply:This sounds like she needs to come out of her shell. Why does she do this? What does the book covering her face mean? If I were you I wouldn't feel good about sex because it is not intimate and that would bother me. You need to talk to her about this and tell her you don't feel connected when you have sex. If she isn't willing I would move on because she has deeper issues than you need to deal with.
Reply:That sounds crazy. What's the book?

How can I get my face to look like it's glowing?

I just took graduation pictures for school, and in the actual graduation pictures they're going to put in the year book,

my face looks utterly disgusting.

It looks oily, which is the bigest problem, but my face isn't even oily; it's my makeup.

I want to know, how can I get my face to look like it's glowing, like celebrites do when they're doing photoshoots.

And if you have any suggestions, could you please give me some kind of brand I could get for that type of makeup?

Thnx :)

How can I get my face to look like it's glowing?
The first thing I would do is to use Benefit's Dr. FeelGood primer. It will absorb any oil,and keep your foundation on--no caking, flaking or touch-ups! In terms of foundation, I recommend the Teint Innoconnce foundation from Chanel. It's an oil-free foundation with light to medium coverage that has light-reflecting pigments, giving your skin that radiantly healthy, glowy look. You can also try Bobbi Brown's shimmer bricks. Worn over blush or instead of blush, they give you a glowing, natural complexion.
Reply:clean face, maybe powder.lightly
Reply:try using a bronzer on top of you foundation or a luminator under your foundation... it will make you glow... smashbox luminator
Reply:boil 1 cup oatmeal

add 1 egg white and 1 TB honey

Apply thin so it doesnt drip

take off when you scrunch your face it feels like the mask is cracking

Good luck :%26gt;

This works incredibly on my skin! It is AMAZING
Reply:I did some research looking for foundation that's light and something that make up artist's use. On Sex and the City they used Make Up Forever's Face and Body foundation. I purchased some and it is really great stuff. It is light, buildable coverage, lasts, and has a dewy finish that lasts all day. Looks great in photos because it doesn't have titanium dioxide. Most photo's don't turn out because of foundation, it acturally is the powder you use on top. It reflects light.
Reply:break glowsticks and put the liquid on your face...then you will really be glowing!
Reply:Try puritycosmetics.co.uk. It is really good!
Reply:The reason why the celebs faces glow is cuz its an affect the photographer uses.. but I agree bare minerals works
Reply:Instead of using liquid foundation, switch to a powder. That should help with the shininess. I use bronzer on top of my foundation, on my cheek bones, bridge of my nose, and forehead, anywhere that the sun naturally hits you. You can even use bronzer on your shoulders and collar bone if you wearing a low shirt or tank top. I use Bronze Gems, I found mine at Wal-Mart for about $6. You can get it in different shades, depending on how light or dark your skin is.
Reply:Bare Escentuals Pure Radiance. It's the best!!! It's actually made just for that purpose. Check out Ebay or Sephora
Reply:I use my normal foundation (Giorgio Armani) but you can buy an added tinter/luminator...you mix it in with your normal foundation and i seriously get compliments all the time "wow you are like glowing, your skin looks great etc"

So even if you have the perfect foundation, look for another tinter u can mix in with it to give just that hint of glow instead of an oil slick :)
Reply:clean your face, use a Dove energy glow bronzer. if you have light eyes, use a little darker eye shadow. (covergirl) use blush too but NOT TOO MUCH!! (covergirl works best if you ask me) they use it in americas next top model.

In feng shui theory, is it no good is the book shelves is facing you in the study room?

My book shelf (not display with books but collectibles instead) is facing my desk where i am sitting in my study room. Is it no good for me???

In feng shui theory, is it no good is the book shelves is facing you in the study room?
No, I think there's no bad about it. it's bad when it's opposite to your bed where you sleep. But if you feel uncomfortable while sitting opposite the book shelves you can change your sitting position.
Reply:it is okay to put bookshelves in your study room. there is no problem in fengshui relating to this.
Reply:I assume it must feel uncomfortable or your wouldn't be asking. If you don't want to put a cover over the bookshelves, and you can't rearrange the layout of the room, it should help if the books are lined up neatly at the front of the shelves, to soften the edges.

PS - I don't think of feng shui as a "theory" - I think it just "is" - whether we study it or not. Chi happens.

Good luck
Reply:Whether it is behind or infront of you, they are likes knifes cutting into you. There are few ways to overcome this minor problem though. You probably knows about the books, or alternatively you can cover the shelves up with doors or cloth or relocate your desk or bookshelf so that you are not in harm's way.

Good way to cover a book so that title/front is visible ?

The kids have some books they read a lot, and these books are subject to a lot of handling. Any ideas on how to protect them? Fabric covers have 2 problems - even the jumbo size ones do not seem to fit some books. And, the kids like the book's face %26amp; title be visible.

So, I need something like the plastic jackets that library books have.

So, any ideas on how to cover a book, so that the front of the book remains visible. Any store carry these? Or, some easy way to make such cover at home?

Good way to cover a book so that title/front is visible ?
clear plastic covers. u can buy them in big sheets so u just cut them in the right sizes for the books/notebooks
Reply:I Used to cover my books in clear contact paper... good for strength and lasts a long time...
Reply:there really isnt a way to cover the book without the front being covered. If you child wants the front so he/she can tell which text book it is then all you have to do is label the book's subject on the spine and front and back. This way which ever way it is facing he/she can tell what subject it is. Also What helped me was to memorize what colors go with which subject. Each year I always use the same color or print for each text book. Also have your child pick which color he/she thinks fits the subject best. For some reason I always thought of history as a red and math as a yellow and science purple. And it has always been that way for me. If you dont think this will work then I guess you could try hobby lobby and see if they have clear plastic or something to put on the books. Make sure it isnt sticky on one side because it probably wont come off and will damage the book and you might end up paying for it. So be careful! Good luck.
Reply:Clear contact paper STICKS to the book.. there was a kid who did this to his spelling book in 5th grade and he had to pay for the book. You could make your own out of a paper bag (google has thousands of results) and have the kid write the subject over and over like MATH. They should really make book covers like that =\

You can use the fabric ones too. For history, I use one thats red, white and blue.. Biology is a tiger print, and so on.
Reply:contact paper, if you dany want it to get sticky use wax paper and tape.

Books on Palmistry %26amp; Face Analysis?
Hello some1thatfar,

I have 3 suggestions:

First, I have studied and researched various aspects of handanalysis (studied 100+ books from all over the world) and the book that comes rightaway in my mind is: "The Benham book of Palmistry" - sometimes described as 'The bible of Palmistry'.

Secondly, you can look at amazon.com:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw/102...

And my third suggestion concerns my person library of titles:

http://www.handresearch.com/hand/Evoluti...

(Benham's book is mentioned at the chapter 'handanalysis books')

Good luck and ... have fun!

Anybody can explain how we can score A in bio?other than read the book..?

i can't face a book more than an hour...

Anybody can explain how we can score A in bio?other than read the book..?
I had the same problem a long time ago, I had problems concentrating when needed to do task for a prolonged period of time. This problem I had for more then 10 years, hear is how I solved it.

When summer break came about, I decided I would take studying seriously next year. I took my bio and chem books and took it section at a time, I read the section three times once to get an idea, second time around I underlined key points and third time I took a pencil and paper and made point, drew diagrams of process and pictures, etc.to help me. Try to do this for an hour, and see how much you get done, you will be surprised. Do not over force your-self. Then after the hour was up, I got up, closed the book, pretended I am with a friend out for dinner who doesn't have a clue about biology and tried to explain everything to them, clarifying concepts. Finally compare what you learned to your class notes and add in anything that the book may have missed, this will be an easy task because you already understand the concept and main points, but do this ONLY after you have the concept mastered. Then go for a break. Then when you go to bed at night, when you close your eyes, try to picture the concepts happening, for instance, imagine how RNA polymerase binds to the DNA transcribes the mRNA, which is exported from the nucleus to the ribosome and how the protein is synthesized and you can go on and on until you fall a sleep eventually, when you fell board, you can do the same thing. It is actually quit fun, try see how it works.
Reply:it means that your stupid...
Reply:The inability to face a book for more than an hour is a symptom of gaming or a *lot* of TV watching. They're fun ... but they really burn out the attention span of the human brain.

Here's a technique that worked for me in college:

Form a study group. Include a cute girl (or guy if appropriate) ... whether she (or he) is the hottie of the class doesn't matter, as long as they're smart ... but not a lot smarter than you. The point is to include someone you kinda want to impress. That adds incentive for you not to look like a dumass.

Picking the right group is key. Include other people in the group who are smart ... but not too smart (or your cutie will be impressed with them, not you). You want people who are struggling a bit as well ... just enough that they all see advantage for making the group work. Don't include your goof-off Xbox buddies, or the class jokester. You need a group you can keep on track.

If you pick the right group, the rest will take care of itself. You'll find yourself preparing for the group session (because you want to impress the cutie), and everyone will benefit from it. At the meeting, keep things on track ... don't let it digress from the goal (e.g. the upcoming test).

The bonus is that you will look like the hero, the leader. You will also make some new friends (including the cutie, if you're lucky).

This is called using social pressures to work for you.
Reply:You're looking for a shortcut to success. There aren't any.

Put down the XBox and study. There is no substitute except native talent.
Reply:Then read the book one hour at a time. How can you be familiar enough with the material to earn an "A" unless you read the entire book? Set yourself a schedule to read the book two hours (or whatever it takes to get the job done) a day. For instance, say to yourself, "I'll read from ten am to 11 am. Then I'll read from four pm to five pm." This way you read the whole book but not exasperate yourself over it. Best of luck. And read the book yourself!
Reply:Well, $50,000 in unmarked bills might do it.

Give yourself a schedule with no more than 45 minutes of the book at a time. When you've truly concentrated for the whole 45 minutes, you get a small reward--candy, 15 minutes online, something like that. Then back to the book.

Study with a partner (the "we" in your question). Read a segment aloud, taking turns. Stop one another any time you're not clear on something, or not absorbing but just reading like drones.

Make an outline of a chapter and study that, not the book. If you and your partner each outline chapters, do alternate ones and swap copies so you both have outlines of every chapter. This assumes you can trust one another to do a good job.
Reply:Well, you can always go out and experience bio first hand. Take what you're studying and either put it into practice or go somewhere where you know you be able to see it first hand
Reply:If you go to class and learn everything covered in the lecture. Take complete notes, video tape or make an audio recording during class, and discuss what the other students have studied for the test. Maybe that might work, however, all success requires work, and a successful grade (A) will require effort. knew a guy that would break into his profs. office the night before the exam and try to find the test, that guy was crazy, but he turned out to be a well paid businessman.

The cover is different than the one you described but it does sound like the book "Nothing But the Truth (And a Few White Lies)" by Justina Chen Headley. Here's a link to the book at Amazon {there's a plot description there}: http://www.amazon.com/Nothing-But-Truth-...

Good luck to you! :-)

Whats a third major problem??

Three major problems that Elphaba in the book Wicked faces?
She wanted to follow her own path, work against the Wizard and help the Animals, but her (only) friend Galinda was working with the Wizard.
Reply:I dont know if these would be considered problems:

- She didnt want to inherit her family's title after her sister's death

-She never knew who her real father was

-She was allergic to water

-She never felt anything for her son or even acknowledge he was her son
Reply:uhmm.... about this:

because she is an outcast, she tries to sovle her own problems and doesn't understand that she needs help just like any other person.

or:

she doesn't know wether Liir is her son or not causing her to not persist a mother-child relationship with him.

or:

because of her beliefs, they cause people to distance themselves from her or approach her with bad after affects.

I need to find a book that i can read for free online?
You could BUY your own copy. Ever consider that option? That way you could take a highlight pen to the important parts which will help you with the exams you will be taking as you read the novel.

Go to amazon.com or Barnes and Noble online, or if you have one of those bookstores in your town, I'm sure you'll find a copy in the young adult book section. Trade paperbacks, like the one you're looking for are not very expensive.

Good luck!

How do you make a pop-up pyramid? like in a pop -up book when you open it something pops up in your face.?

You have to cut two slits in the back of a folded piece of paper, then glue the pyramid on cut piece, which should be fould outward from the paper. That's the easiest way, stick with it. The other way is not worth it.

The slit paper should be in two straight lines down the middle of the page and stick out like a chair when foulded outward correctly

I saw it once at Tower Records and unfortunately didn't buy it. It had all actors and the movies they were in. Thanks

Does anyone know the name of a book that had all character actors that people only know by face and not name?
There is such a volume at the Screen Actors Guild in Hollywood. I know, I went over there to find the faces of certain charactor actresses I liked but couldn't remember the names of. I wanted to select one for an art project and I was able to contact her through her agent.

In the book Queen Bees and Wanna Be’s the author discusses problems many girls face with cliques. Do you t?

Can be sometimes, depend on how bad they act. But people have always formed friendships and group friendships, gangs, etc. It is not always a problem until they start harassing and stigmatising others.

I never had a problem with cliques in school, but then again, I was more of a loner/freak anyway. lol.

Who thinks that Harry and Voldemort will face off in a battle of all times in the 7th book?

I can't wait...

Who thinks that Harry and Voldemort will face off in a battle of all times in the 7th book?
I think there will be a pretty big battle - I'm hoping for some brilliant writing by JK Rowling, anything less than brilliant might be disappointing. The tension is killing me.
Reply:I think that's a given!
Reply:Most likely! =) Who knows though?! J.K. Rowling is a twisty and turny mysterious author! I'm sure there will be lots of bumps and bruises along the way! Hope this helps. =)
Reply:That's a given but I agree. Can't wait either!
Reply:I think that it will be like Lord of the Rings with Dumbledore's

army, the centaurs, the giants, the dementors and every one else.I do not think Harry will die though.I think people close to him will though.
Reply:No I'm not even sure it will be harry that kills him it might be Snape (who btw i don't think is really a bad guy).

Or Ron and Hermione (doubt it).

Or Sirius (I think there is more to that veil than disclosed).
Reply:hey persipho whats the problem? these questions are just for FUN!! dont take them so to heart and lighten up.
Reply:i think that it will happen, and i think that wither harry will die, or they will both die at the same time
Reply:Actually I am much more concerned with the future of poor rejected Ginny. I hear she starts snorting flue powder and hanging around Diagon Alley saying things like "Hey there, is that a wand in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?" DUH isnt the final battle between Harry and the V man kind of the whole purpose of the series?

Anyone know of a book that discusses how people are using the internet to substitute face to face social life?

I wish I could remember the name of it, but there was a sci-fi book back in the sixties where society NEVER left their homes, they only communicate through a wireless system. Sound familiar. Internet addiction is the fastest growing one on the planet.
