is there a chance that it will back fire , that we will loose the skills to comunicate for real in person?
Is socializing become a thing of the past? with face book my space and all PC orientated ''friends''
It is a fact that we are entirely different people on the computer than in person. Over the computer we feel more at ease with things because of anonymity. I think in a way the whole computer generation has backfired on itself because of this point. We may still be able to communicate but I am unsure as to the validity, honesty or sincerity of the communication we have in person with one another. Why? We compromise ourselves in one circumstance.
Reply:No.
When photography was invented, it was considered the death of painting. However, paintings still exist and indeed painting has thrived in the art world since the 1860s.
Just because a technology replaces one function of another method, that doesn't mean the first method cannot still be used or used in a new way. That is, just because we have cell phones/telephones/email/social networking and they make sending messages easier, that doesn't mean that it will totally replace face-to-face contact. In fact, think how many face-to-face interactions you have on a typical day--counterpeople, friends, family, coworkers, salesmen--it's hard to imagine replacing all of those interactions with a middleman.
We are humans who crave interpersonal contact. Although it has changed, physical contact will always be necessary.
