I am in the process of writing an E book about Hair color... !
I am a hairdresser so i know all the technical stuff about hair and hair color and so dont want to confuse people. i just want to get down to the nitty gritty to help everyone with exactly what you wanna know!
but I am looking for some answers about what problems you have when coloring your hair?
what are the main problems you face with hair color?
Would an EbooK help u in anyway?
Any suggestions much appreciated... thanks people! X
I am writing an E book about Hair color... what are the main problems you face with hair color?
I am a hairstylist too and a salon owner, and the number one problem i face when if comes to color is people who think they can read something on the internet and learn how to color their own hair. We are the proffessionals, dont you have any respect for that license you worked so hard to aquire? I cant believe you actually want to teach people how to color their own hair, I do so many color corrections on people who listen to other people who think they know how to do color. The way i see it if you were really good at doing color you would be too busy actually DOING it to be writing any kind of book about it...but well i guess if people read and try and arent trained, all the more business for us truly professionals who rescpect our licenses and serve our clients in a personal way instead of trying to teach them something you have paid for and worked hard to learn....shame on you for teaching our skill.
ON Second thought and after reading that comment about what i had written above and after checking out your book Perfect Hair Color, and giving some thought to what was said, I think i am going to buy your book. I also run a successful business, and I suppose you are right that people will be forever reading online to learn to do whatever they want to do...even their hair, maybe i will write a book as well.
Reply:i would like to thank you for considering my response, if you are being sincere with what you said that is.
I do believe that everyone should go to a professional hairstylist - but not everyone does...
at least we can help those people too - why not?
Thanks

Reply:What is an E book?
Reply:as an African American woman i seem to find out that color breaks my hair off being that i already use a chemical relaxer in it. When I was natural no relaxer i colored my hair and it didn't break but it was somewhat dry
problems i faced with color issince my natural hair color is lighter and sandy the blonde streaks I put in turned white and extremly light blonde(not the color i wanted) as i said earlier it also dried it out %26amp;broke it off
Reply:Um. like, you know, like, there was this really bad thing, like, um called Katrina, and like, um, you should send money....
Reply:when ur head starts itching and you s hit yourself
Reply:well i love getting my hair done, up until i was 17(im 18) i have had blonde hair and i loved it but i really like brown hair so i decided to go darker and i absolutly love it, but i find that, it fades really quickly, i get it done every 6 -8 weeks but i notice it fade after about 3 weeks. i wash it everyday and i know this is why but i wish it could last longer, if you havd any suggestions it would help.
oh and i hate tryig to get the hair dye stains off your head, the hairdresser always get most of it off, but there is still a faint line sometimes.good luck
Reply:Yes I think a ebook on hair color do and donts would be good..I color my hair and used to use a rinse,Natural Instincts but now my grays come back too soon so I had to switch over to a permanent hair color and now using Loreal Natural Match, which has No ammonia which is good...That is the only one I know that has no ammonia..But the first time I color my hair is too dark..and I have to wait till I shampoo at least 3 or 4 times then the color is perfect or close to it..I wish that you can get the perfect color the day you do it...
Reply:why do blond women always dye their roots black?
Reply:im a hairdresser to and my biggest problem is vibrant reds fade to quickly no matter what i try{my own hair included}
Reply:what problem i have huh lets think frizziness and i asked people here around me they say dried hair after a week after colouring and breaking of hair
Reply:This is pretty funny..I will tell you why..You say your a hairdresser, and your writing a book about coloring hair and problems..Well, duh you should know. Dont you work on the public with people that come in with probelms? Havent you ever done a color correction? Apparently not, because you would be answering your own questions...Any questions people ask, I always suggest them going to a reputable salon..You know why? Because they have the training, and knowledge, skill..As the general public doesnt..and almost everytime someone screws their color up with over the counter garbage, and they end up going to the salon to have it fixed anyway. So save the trouble of writing a book on the subject....Im assuming its a education book..Rethink your adventure.
Reply:hair color gives me white hair.maybe its due to the harsh chemicals its made from.and hair turn dry instantly after you wash it off.and yeh, colors like red, burgundey and dark brown fade real soon.
Reply:maybe u cod say wat colour hair shodn't be mixed wiv otherwise it cod go green or yellow ect. so wat colour u hav to put on first instead of just putting it on ur head thinking its gunna come out like u want it to. For example bleaching the hair first, then put the colour on.
Reply:breakage split ends...endless list ....
Reply:its when with the bottle that it is in you wouldnt be able to find what colour so you might whant red stripes but then u put it in and u got oorange stripes. If u have little kids they coulld get sick and die so make it non-toxic ( if it is toxic) and you could mix them up so make sure you show in big letters what the coulour is. also i would LOVE! a eboook about the hair it would be great so good luck!! i hope these trickes helped u
Reply:Why do highlights eventually have discoloration on them?
Reply:well, last time i got highlights in my hair, the highlights on top of my head blended together and made my hair so blonde you could barely see my scalp! it took hours to fix and it still doesnt look that great...so my main problem is hair color mixing together when you do highlights...it turns out to be a BIG mess!
Reply:In response to the Salon owner! above this
as you state: salon owner and this that the other! you should then know of all people that people experiment at home! simple as!
we will never change this fact!!!
Having done so many color corrections in the salon i know that people are ever-increasingly experimenting with color at home.
which is why i am in the process of writing a book to help people prevent these mistakes!
some people will always do it themselves; you only have to read forums and yahoo answers to find out that people don't always have enough money to go to the salon! U will never change this fact , it's been happening for years!
so what ur saying that because we should pay to have our plumbing etc done professionally that people cant go and buy tools to do the same job. painters, decoraters PLUMBERS etc u think we should close down all the hardware stores.
I DONT THINK SO...
and in response to the "u should be actually doing peoples hair instead of writing a book, i have my own successful business which is why i am not working! Think about IT!
Reply:Well, you'll need to check on the hair color every 2 or 3 minutes, that is if you don't want it to go to the right color and beyond. If it is a brunette like medium ash brown, make sure you check on it every once and a while. It can go darker than you think! And with blondes or red, it can go lighter too. Just make sure you keep it the color and shaded tone that you want it to be.
Reply:pretty much the bad hair days, and when there's not enough time on getting your hair done.
Reply:you should definitely do a trouble shooter letting people know of what not to do i,ve had to fix more peoples hair because of silly mistakes
Reply:Hmmmmmmmmmmm a hairdresser that knows all the technical "stuff" about color..interesting. I really would not personally trust a hairdresser over a color educator for any of my questions. If you do know all about haircolor, you should already know the most common problems.
Reply:i have a problem with everyone looking the same, having really dark hair underneath and really blonde on top...i think it looks horrible and really fake...and must be horrendous to maintain...why cant people just be natural and if they are going to have colour at least let it look more natural. Sorry rant over with!x
Reply:You're asking us questions on hair colour ? I'd have thought you'd be answering them.
Reply:my hair gets dry after bleaching and putting color on it...well I guess it would be great if there would be an ebook so there would be tips to follow.
Reply:roots turn colors and stripes!!
i hate yucky stripes
Reply:Some problems are:
Roots
different color! oops
what color will look best?
Reply:The main problem I have is choosing the right shades for my skin tone.
Reply:The main problem I have is no matter what colour I pick, my hair always goes some shade or red or pink.
I don't know if I would look at an E book - perhaps if it contained a reference list about where to buy colouring products which are reliable and worked with different body chemistries.
