Looking for the name of this book (or author)?

I've heard of this book. Its about this killer who loves killing people but puts it to a good use by killing bad people. I think he kills a bad priest in the book. The cover has a face with a dead bodies arm on it. Its also a TV series. Any help?

Reply:A killer who kills bad people: sounds like Dexter. That's the name of the TV show, anyway. I don't know if it's based on a book.
